Why do we need to drink water?
Your body is more than half water, so it needs new water every day.

Pip’s answer
- Your body is more than half water, so it needs new water every day.
- Water carries good food bits all around inside you. Swish swish!
- It also helps you cool down when you run and play.
- Wow-ee, the water you drink today might once have been in a dinosaur's lake!
For grown-ups
Roughly 60 percent of an adult's body is water, and a little more in young children. Water carries nutrients, helps digestion, cushions joints and cools us through sweat. We lose water constantly through breathing, sweat and urine, so we need to keep replacing it.
Ask your child: How do you know when your body needs a drink?
