Why do we have different weather?
We have different weather because the sun warms air and water in changing ways.

Pip’s answer
- We have different weather because the sun warms air and water in changing ways.
- Warm air rises up, and cool air rushes in to take its place. That's wind!
- Water floats into the sky, makes clouds, and falls back down as rain or snow.
- Wow-ee, sunshine, wind, rain and snow all come from the same busy sky!
For grown-ups
Weather comes from the sun heating Earth unevenly. Warm air rises and cool air moves in, creating wind. Water evaporates, forms clouds and falls as rain or snow. Air pressure, temperature, moisture and Earth's spin together create the day-to-day changes we call weather.
Ask your child: What will the weather be tomorrow? Let's guess and then check!
