Why did the dinosaurs disappear?
Dinosaurs lived on Earth a very, very, very long time ago, buddy.

Pip’s answer
- Dinosaurs lived on Earth a very, very, very long time ago, buddy.
- Then a giant space rock crashed into the Earth, ka-thunk!
- It changed the weather so much that most dinosaurs could not survive.
- But birds are the dinosaurs' great great grandkids. Wow-ee, some dinosaurs are still here!
For grown-ups
About 66 million years ago an asteroid roughly 10 kilometers wide struck what is now Mexico. The impact threw dust and soot into the sky, blocking sunlight and changing the climate, and most dinosaur species died out. Small feathered dinosaurs survived and evolved into today's birds.
