Can you make a soft, rumbly purr like a cat?
For grown-ups
Cats purr by rapidly twitching the muscles of the larynx (voice box) as they breathe in and out, about 25 to 150 times a second. They often purr when content, but also when stressed or injured. Some scientists think the low vibrations may even help healing, though that is still being studied.
